§ 8-9. Disposition of proceeds from sale of lots, etc.

The proceeds arising from the sale of lots and grave spaces in the Evanston City Cemetery, and all other income and revenue thereof; shall be exclusively applied, appropriated or used in improving, preserving and embellishing the City Cemetery and its appurtenances and to paying the necessary operating expenses thereof, and shall not be applied or appropriated to any other purpose; provided, that the City may use income and revenue for purchasing or acquiring additional adjacent grounds for cemetery purposes only; provided, further, that the principal of the perpetual care trust fund created by this chapter shall not be applied or appropriated for any of the foregoing purposes, and only the interest of income from such perpetual care trust fund may be used for any of the foregoing purposes for grave spaces for which perpetual care has been provided.
